We live in a country that is famous for extreme weathers. Winter and summer can be harsh for our bodies. In order to save ourselves, we’ll have to pre-amatively decide what to do next. We have a lot of sensitivities attached to our skin so here are few tips which can help you fight summer this season:


  • Stay hydrated:

Keeping yourself hydrated is very important during summer – so drink lots of water! Why? The weather is hot and muggy that causes you to sweat so you need to replenish the water leaving your body with more water.

How to know when you’re dehydrated? Symptoms include, dry mouth, thirst, darker urine, headaches and dizziness.



  • Wear breathable material

Cotton is your best friend during summer. Wear clothes made up of a high percentage of cotton (100% if possible) because the fabric will allow for better air circulation, which helps with the absorbing and removing of body moisture caused by sweat.



  • Take multiple showers

Refresh yourself throughout the day by taking multiple cold showers. Cold showers will not only help to temporarily relieve you of the heat and humidity, but you’ll come out feeling clean, energised and no longer sticky from sweating.



  • Eat lighter meals

No doubt many of us have consumed large meals which have subsequently left us feeling heavy, bloated and in a “food coma”. Top that off with the humidity of summer and your body will be working overtime to not only cool your core body down, but to digest that big meal, leaving you with low energy levels.

So help yourself and your body by eating lighter meals. Lighter meals means higher energy levels as your body won’t need to work as hard to digest so it can focus on keeping your core body temperature regulated.



  • Fan yourself

Make summer more bearable with a breeze. People will be envious of you when you pull out your fan – you’ll be cooling down and they won’t be.

On the go? Whip out your handheld paper fan or battery operated portable fan. At work? Plug in your USB powered fan. There’s a fan for every occasion.



  • Make homemade fruit ice blocks

Treat yourself this summer by making fruit ice blocks at home. Grab yourself an ice block mould, fruit and whatever liquid you want and you’re ready to get started!
